seahorse,seahorse in the sea...

I know seahorse is a fantastic animals. I am interested to find out about it.

Did you Know...
-They may not look like a fish but they are true fishes.
-Seahorses have no stomach and no teeth. Food passes through their digestive system very quickly and thus they should eat constantly in order to stay alive.
-The small fin on their back can flutter up to 35 times per second.
-They can be 1.5 cm to 35 cm long.
-Did you know that seahorses mate for life? Most fish don't mate for life.
-During mating, the Seahorses utter musical sounds.
-It is estimated that they can normally live for 1 to 5 years in the wild.
-Did you know that seahorses are carnivores and can consume more than 3000 brine shrimp in a day.
-Seahorses feed on small living animals such as daphnia, cyclops, larvae of water insects, or mysids.
-Did you know that seahorses are among the only animal species on Earth in which the male bears the unborn young.
mu and dad
-The female seahorse lay eggs into a brood pouch on the ventral of male seahorse. Male fertilize these eggs in his pouch and he carries the eggs in his pouch until they hatch, then releases little hatchlings into the water.
-The female can deposit up to 1500 eggs in the male's pouch.
-Currently about 35 species of seahorses have been identified.
Chinese herbal
-They are commonly used in Chinese herbal medicines and it is estimated that as much as 20 million sea horses are caught and sold each year for this purpose.
-Seahorses like to swim in pairs linked by their tales.
-Seahorses cannot curl their tails backwards.
-Seahorses change color to blend in with their surroundings.
-The pectoral fins control turning and steering. When resting, the seahorse curls its tail around seaweed, to keep it from floating away...
-The average height of a full-grown sea horse is 2-8 inches.
-Seahorses usually live in the tropics or along temperate coasts.
-What do South American Spider Monkeys, Ringtail Opossums and seahorses have in common? They all have prehensile tails.

Snakes Facts, hisss hisss

Ribbon snake and Rough Green snake
-There are over 3000 kinds of snake in the world and about 375 of these are venomous.
fer-de-lance
-One species of fer-de-lance, a deadly viper, has been recorded swallowing prey that was 1.6 times its own body weight.
king cobra
-Unlike regular teeth, the fangs of a venomous snake are hollow. This means they can inject their toxin with the efficiency of a hypodermic syringe. And they don't need much -the venom of a cobra could kill an elephant.
paradise tree-snake fly
paradise tree-snake
-The paradise tree-snake of South-east Asia can 'fly' through the air by flattening its body into an s-shaped ribbon.
- No one can accuse snakes of being gluttons. In fact, one of the most interesting snake facts is that most snakes can go without eating for several days, or even longer. People who own pet snakes feed them as infrequently as once per month. Some snakes can go as long as six months without a good meal.
-A snake’s jaw, however, has no such limitation. Its mouth can just swing wide open, allowing it to swallow a meal that would appear much too large for them to eat.
-They smell with their tongue. That is how they smell for food and get a feel for their surroundings. If you have ever wondered why most snakes flick their tongues in and out, now you know.
-Snake venom is a complex mixture of proteins that, once unleashed, rapidly spreads through the victim's body. Neurotoxic venom, which destroys the nervous system, is the variety that kills quickest.
California Kingsnake
-Many snakes are only too happy to gobble each other up. Some, such as the ravenous California Kingsnake, like nothing more than to feast upon others of their own species.
Black Mamba
-The swiftest snake on land is the Black Mamba, a notorious African monster that can reach speeds of up to 12 miles per hour. And they're amongst the most deadly too.
-Spitting cobras actually spray their venom from their fangs, with quick muscular contractions that can send their toxin up to three metres away. Worse still, they'll be aiming at your eyes when they do it.
-Baby snakes are often more dangerous than their parents. While adults carefully ration out their venom, a baby snake lacks such self-control and will unleash a much higher dose of venom in its bite.
rattlesnake
-A dead rattlesnake can still bite if you get too close. The snake's heat sensors remain active until rigor mortis is complete, a day or more later. Placing a warm object, such as your hand, near the snake's mouth will still cause it to have a go!
the Inland Taipan
-Cobras and Mambas get all the notoriety, but the most toxic snake of all is the Inland Taipan of Australia. It could kill 100 people with a single bite, but thankfully it reserves its wrath for rats.

FUN THINGS ABOUT SNAKES
-This would be funny to watch! The Hognose, Grass snake and the Spitting Cobra will fake death when feeling threatened. They flip into their backs, open their mouths, and let their tongue flop out. And they will let out some smelly stuff from their anal gland. Nobody would want to eat it after that!

Reticulated Python
-The biggest snake is the Reticulated Python. It can grow up to 10.05 meters or 33 feet long!
thread snake
-The Thread snake is the smallest snake. It is only about 10 centimeters (4 inches long) and the size of a toothpick.
anaconda
-The thickest snake is the Anaconda. The biggest one found measured 111 centimeters or 44 inches around. That's huge!
-Vine snakes are remarkable because they appear to have binocular vision.
-Many Zookeepers believe that Cobras are faster learners than other snakes. They are able to tell the difference between their trainer and strangers.

THE END
that's all facts that i've collect.
 Yawn...feel so sleepy..ha ha..

cats! about cats!!!

The nose pad of a cat is ridged in a pattern that is unique, just like the fingerprint of a human.

The American cat population reached nearly 68 million in 1996.  American Demographics magazine estimates that's about 200 million kitty yawns per hour and a whopping 425 million catnaps each day!

If your cat is near you, and her tail is quivering, this is the greatest expression of love your cat can give you.   If her tail starts thrashing, her mood has changed --- Time to distance yourself from her.

A cat's heart beats twice as fast as a human heart, at 110 to 140 beats per minute.

Cats wag their tails when it is in a stage of conflict.  The cat wants to do two things at once, but each impulse blocks the other.  For example:   If your cat is in the doorway wanting to go outside, and you open the door to find it raining, the cat's tail will wag because of internal conflict.  The cat wants to go outside, but doesn't want to go into the rain.  Once the cat makes a decision and either returns to the house or leaves into the rain, the tail will immediately stop wagging.

don't pick a kitten or a cat up by the scruff of its neck;  only mother cats can do this safely, and only with their kittens.

Cats knead with their paws when they're happy.

Your cat loves you and can "read" your moods.  If you're sad or under stress, you may also notice a difference in your cat's behavior.

A cat will almost never "meow" at another cat.  This sound is reserved for humans.
A single pair of cats and their kittens can produce as many as 420,000 kittens in just 7 years.(whoa!)

Cats love to chew on grass, catnip, parsley or sage.  Become a green thumb and plant an indoor garden for your cat!   But be careful -- many plants are toxic to your cats!

"Sociable" cats will follow you from room to room to monitor your activities throughout the day.

Cats can see in color!

Cats are partially color blind.   They have the equivalency of human red/green color blindness.  (Reds appear green and greens appear red;  or shades thereof.)

Cats don't see "detail" very well.  To them, their person may appear hazy when standing in front of them.

Cats need 1/6th the amount of light that humans do to see.  Their night vision is amazing!
Cats can see up to 120 feet away.   Their peripheral vision is about 285 degrees.

Cats eyes come in three shapes:   round, slanted and almond.

The color of a kitten's eyes will change as it grows older.

At birth, kittens can't see or hear.   Cats open their eyes after five days and begin to develop their eyesight and hearing at approximately 2 weeks.  They begin to walk at 20 days.

Kittens begin dreaming at just over one week old.

sajak 'Nyawa'

Nyawa.
Berikan sedetik waktumu,
Untuk menatap sungai kehidupan,
Agar tubuhmu bisa,
Mengatur jalan yang benar,
Juga dapat memperbaiki,
Segala lopak kekurangan,
Dan juga terus mengukuhkan,
Sinar jalan masa hadapan.

Sementara para dahulu meninggalkan,
Begitu juga dengan kita,
Yang pastinya berhadapan,
Roda kitaran kehidupan,
Yang pasti akan terus berputar.

Usah kau hanyut dalam lautan perasaan,
Yang menyenbunyikan hati dari cahaya,
Yang mengheret dikau ke dalam kelam.
